When the tinworm turns Oh when the tinworm turns And I tried to make plans but the darkness seemed to bury them And I tried to make sense of all the waste and the suffering On the long lonely road where beauty has died And the oxygen of friendship was just too thin too survive Now I've been freed from my anxiety And I'm warmed by the sun And I'm waking up to spring Waking up to spring I'm waking up to spring And I tried to make plans but the darkness seemed to bury them And I tried to make sense of all the waste and the suffering I tried... And I tried I tried..

Fell into a sea of uncertainty Tried to climb out but a lack of direction swallowed me Down I sank and away I went On a painful journey through a mournful place What to look for? Came to the frozen surface Had to break through the ice I was numb from cold and weak and shocked But you wouldn't let me die there No, you gave me more time to suffer You knew a brittle body would be easier to smash And there was nothing left There was nothing left between us Under uncertainty's uncertainty we drifted apart Till there was nothing left There was nothing left between us Under uncertainty's uncertainty we drifted apart Till there was nothing left There was nothing left between us Under uncertainty's uncertainty we drifted apart Walked around for days Didn't know what to look for People walked by They didn't see what I saw The pictures they cried out to me Look through the confusion and out to sea What do the waves spell through ever-changing lines? What should I hold dear through ever-changing times? What should I grasp as I tumble down? And there was nothing left There was nothing left between us Under uncertainty's uncertainty we drifted apart Till there was nothing left There was nothing left to keep us Under uncertainty's uncertainty we drifted apart Till there was nothing left There was nothing left to keep us Under uncertainty's uncertainty we drifted apart Till there was nothing left There was nothing left to keep us Till there was nothing left There was nothing left to keep us as one

about

Beach Ghosts is the debut album from UK Experimental Electronic Music Producer Tomorrow's Child.

The Album cover depicts a redundant stone mill, part of the former Quarry at Porthoustock in Cornwall. Its tomb-like nature represents lost industry and reflects the album’s contemplation of grief, memory and environment.

"I grew up in High Wycombe which is around 40 minutes by train from London. In 2015 I moved to Cornwall and shortly after, my Father died. His reassuring presence now absent from my life. The years of processing and adjusting to these life-events has steered the artistic direction of these pieces created between 2018 and 2020. Some tracks contemplate lost industry in Cornwall whilst others explore lost relationships from my past. The referencing of old hymns in the opening and closing tracks relates both to my Father's role as a Pastor in the Methodist church and the association of Cornish fishermen with the choral singing of such hymns. With Beach Ghosts I sought to use a range of electronic music styles and weave them together into a narrative of melancholy and loss" - Tomorrow's Child
